Targeted

45” x 45”. 1705 rolled pieces of cotton rag paper made from Huntsville Prison uniforms. 2015
Picture
Targeted represents these 1,705 lives, with the 291 in the center representing those on death row here in Texas. The paper is made out of prison uniforms that were torn up into tiny pieces by students studying the injustice within our justice system. We then turned the prison uniforms into a pulp and made sheets of paper out of what was once worn by inmates. Rolling the paper creates individual spirals within the piece, a symbol of the lives and deaths of these inmates.
